There are useful travel gadgets, and then there are gadgets that simply make you smile. TheFlightWall is firmly in the second category. This small LED display tracks aircraft in real time, showing details such as flight number, airline, route, altitude and speed. Connected to Wi-Fi, it turns the planes passing overhead into something you can actually follow. I found myself checking it surprisingly often: spot an aircraft outside the window, glance at the FlightWall and suddenly you know where it is heading. Is it essential? Absolutely not. Is it fun? Definitely. For anyone who enjoys airports, aircraft and the idea that there are always people somewhere on their way to somewhere else, it is a wonderfully unnecessary addition to the home office
