Sony debuts mid-range Xperia 10 VIII

TOKYO — Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 10 VIII, the latest iteration of its mid-range smartphone line designed around everyday practical functionality. The new model features a significantly brighter display, upgraded stereo speakers, and dedicated software shortcuts for contactless payments and loyalty cards.

The Xperia 10 VIII retails for €599 and is available in three finishes: Frozen White, Frosted Grey, and Misty Lilac.

  • Brighter Outdoor Display: The screen is approximately 50% brighter than its predecessor, improving visibility in direct sunlight. The display also automatically adjusts color profiles based on ambient light conditions.

  • Upgraded Front-Facing Stereo Speakers: The front-facing stereo speaker system delivers roughly 15% higher overall volume and over 30% stronger bass performance compared to the previous model.

  • Quick Access ‘Rewards & Pay’ Feature: Users can double-press the side power button to instantly launch their preferred payment methods and store reward apps for faster one-handed checkout.

  • Two-Day Battery & Performance: Powered by a high-capacity battery rated for up to two days of standard use. Sony states the battery is designed to maintain health after four years of typical use. The hardware pairs 8 GB of physical RAM with up to 6 GB of virtual RAM for improved app-switching.

  • Translucent Design: The phone features a matte, translucent back panel. An optional matching cover with an integrated vertical and horizontal kickstand will also be available.
