Emirates is taking its Premium Economy product a step further with what it says is the world’s first fully electrically adjustable Premium Economy seat featuring a full-height privacy screen between each seat. The new seat will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, offering passengers greater control over their seating position and personal space.
The new Premium Economy cabin on the Emirates A350 features just 28 seats in a spacious 2-3-2 configuration. Each seat is approximately 51 centimetres wide and offers up to 99 centimetres of seat pitch. The seats recline into a comfortable resting position without significantly reducing the space available to the passenger behind.
Full-height privacy at the touch of a button
One of the key features of the new seat is its electrically operated privacy screen. Extending the full height of the seat, the screen can be raised or lowered using controls at the passenger’s seat and positioned according to individual preference.
The seat itself is also fully electrically adjustable for the first time in Emirates Premium Economy. Passengers can select different seating positions using integrated controls, including dedicated Lounge Mode and Meal Mode settings.
New headrest and additional leg support
Emirates is also introducing Safran Seats’ U-Dream headrest in Premium Economy. The leather headrest provides additional support for the head and neck and can be adjusted into different positions.
A manually deployable leather footrest provides further support, particularly during longer flights, helping passengers to relax and reduce leg fatigue.
Wireless charging and 4K entertainment
For the first time, Emirates Premium Economy passengers will also have access to wireless charging for compatible devices. Every seat includes a USB-C charging port, while the dining table features an integrated phone holder, allowing passengers to use their own device as a second screen.
The airline’s ice inflight entertainment system is displayed on a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.
The new A350 aircraft will also offer expanded external camera views. In addition to the existing forward- and downward-facing cameras, passengers will be able to view live images from cameras positioned on the left and right sides of the aircraft.
Premium dining and new wine selection
The new seat is part of a wider Premium Economy proposition that includes regionally inspired meals served on Royal Doulton tableware, with linen napkins and Robert Welch stainless-steel cutlery.
Emirates is also expanding its selection of premium wines and sparkling wines. Among the current offerings is Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, an Australian sparkling wine available exclusively to Emirates Premium Economy passengers worldwide.
From September, selected routes will also feature Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014. In October, Emirates will introduce Wiston Estate Brut NV, the airline’s first English sparkling wine, exclusively in Premium Economy on routes to the United Kingdom.
New amenity kits focus on endangered species
On long-haul flights, Premium Economy passengers will receive reusable amenity kits developed in partnership with United for Wildlife. The collection highlights endangered species and uses biobased materials, including a cactus-based alternative to leather.
For the first time in Premium Economy, the kits will also contain plant-based Aveda skincare products, alongside travel essentials such as socks, an eye mask, earplugs and a dental kit.
Premium Economy continues to expand
Emirates introduced Premium Economy in 2022 and has progressively expanded the product across its fleet. The cabin is now available in all markets currently served by the Airbus A350.
Positioned between Economy and Business Class, the product combines wider seats and additional legroom with upgraded dining, entertainment and greater privacy.
The Emirates Premium Economy product was named Best Premium Economy Class at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards in both 2024 and 2025. It also received the Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class award at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards.
With the new A350 seat, Emirates is adding another layer of privacy and personalisation to its Premium Economy offering, with the airline positioning the latest cabin development as part of its broader Fly Better strategy.
