Montmartre will once again become the centre of one of Paris’s biggest neighbourhood celebrations when the Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre returns from 7 to 11 October 2026. Now in its 93rd edition, the festival will take place under the theme “The 18th Arrondissement Leads the Beat”, with music providing the common thread throughout five days of events.
Drawing nearly 1.5 million visitors, the Fête des Vendanges is described as the third-largest event organised by the City of Paris. During the festival, the streets, squares and cultural venues of the 18th arrondissement will host concerts, choirs, dance performances, musical parades and community events.
The 2026 edition will place particular emphasis on music as a way of bringing together the arrondissement’s diverse communities. Established artists and emerging talent will share the programme with amateur performers, local organisations and neighbourhood initiatives.
“Every neighbourhood will bring its own note,” the organisers say, with venues across the arrondissement contributing to the festival’s musical theme. The programme is intended to encourage participation across generations and communities.
Traditional highlights return
Alongside the new musical focus, several of the festival’s traditional events will return. These include the Ban des Vendanges, or Harvest Proclamation, the Grand Parade, the Taste Trail, the Non-Proposal Marriage Ceremony, the Night Run and the Closing Ball.
The events will be given a musical interpretation for the 2026 edition while retaining their role as the festival’s signature attractions.
Food and wine remain another central part of the celebration. The Taste Trail will bring together producers, winemakers and artisans from different regions, offering visitors the opportunity to discover regional specialities, traditional craftsmanship and local food traditions at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur.
Rather than simply presenting food and drink, the organisers describe the trail as an opportunity for visitors to meet the people behind the products and learn more about how they are cultivated, produced and passed on through generations.
A neighbourhood-wide celebration
The festival also aims to highlight the wider 18th arrondissement, bringing together residents, families, community organisations, local businesses and cultural institutions.
According to the organisers, inclusion, solidarity, openness and the sharing of knowledge and traditions remain central to the event. The festival will also continue its environmental initiatives, including efforts focused on responsible food practices, reducing waste, sustainable mobility, short supply chains and promoting local expertise.
With its combination of music, food, heritage and neighbourhood events, the five-day festival will offer visitors a different way to experience the 18th arrondissement — through its streets, performances, flavours and local communities.
