Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is set for a bustling winter season with a significant expansion of its route network, the introduction of new airlines, and a substantial increase in flight frequencies across several key destinations compared to last winter.
New Destinations and Continued Service
Travelers will benefit from several destinations served for the first time in the winter, many launched during the previous summer season. These include Exeter (UK), Georgetown (Guyana), and Hyderabad (India), all operated by KLM. KLM is also resuming its route to Bridgetown (Barbados).
Other new additions include:
-
Muscat (Oman): Continuation of service launched by Oman Air this past summer.
-
Rabat (Morocco) and Oujda (Morocco): New routes introduced by Transavia.
-
Paris Orly (France): Transavia France is extending its service to year-round operations.
New Airlines Bolster Schiphol’s Presence
Schiphol’s diversity is growing with airlines continuing or extending their operations:
-
IndiGo will continue its service to Mumbai (India).
-
Oman Air is operating its first full winter on the Amsterdam–Muscat route.
-
Transavia France solidifies its presence by extending its Paris Orly service into a year-round offering.
Route Network Expansion
Several airlines are capitalizing on new winter routes:
-
easyJet is launching service to both Seville (Spain) and Rovaniemi (Finland).
-
Corendon introduces flights to Kuusamo (Finland) and Sal (Cape Verde).
-
KLM is adding a weekly flight to Kittilä (Finland).
-
Transavia expands its network with flights to Cairo (Egypt) and Marsa Alam (Egypt).
Significant Frequency Increases
A major theme of the upcoming winter schedule is increased capacity on popular routes:
-
TUIfly is significantly boosting its Curaçao service from 7 to 11 weekly flights.
-
KM Malta Airlines will increase its service to Malta from four weekly flights to a daily schedule during a portion of the season.
-
KLM is adding frequencies on an extensive list of intercontinental and European routes, including Aruba, Athens, Bangkok, Boston, Cape Town, Curaçao, Delhi, Miami, Panama City, San Francisco, São Paulo, and Vienna, among others.
-
airBaltic will maintain a high-frequency schedule with seven daily flights across the Baltic capitals: Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Palanga.
-
Iberia will operate four daily flights to Madrid, a new high for the airline at Schiphol.
The expanded schedule reflects strong demand in both leisure and business travel, positioning Schiphol for a robust and well-connected winter.
