Sony announces Xperia 10 VII

Sony announced the new Xperia 10 VII, a smartphone featuring an updated and refined design with numerous improvements. The device introduces a dedicated shutter button for instantly launching the camera and capturing photos, providing a more intuitive photography experience. Its larger display and improved front-facing speakers offer a more immersive entertainment experience, while a battery designed to last up to two days ensures extended use.

In a commitment to longevity, Sony has extended and enhanced the duration of security updates and OS version upgrades compared to previous models, allowing users to enjoy their device with peace of mind for longer. The Xperia 10 VII will also come with Google’s Circle to Search and Google Gemini built-in.

Enhanced Camera Features

A key new feature is the physical shutter button on the side of the phone. A single press can both launch the camera app and snap a photo. Even with the screen locked, a long press of the button will immediately launch the camera app, so you never miss a moment.

The Xperia 10 VII is equipped with new, larger sensors to capture clear and sharp images, particularly in low-light conditions. The 16mm lens features a 1/3-inch sensor, and the 24mm lens now has a new 1/1.56-inch sensor, which is approximately 1.6 times larger than the one in the previous model.

The phone’s two rear cameras support three focal lengths (16mm/24mm/48mm) for versatile shooting. Users can capture wide-angle shots with the 16mm lens, standard scenes with the 24mm lens, and zoom in closer to subjects with the 48mm lens.

Built for the Future

The Xperia 10 VII features a battery designed to last for two days on a single charge, providing peace of mind during long trips or when regular charging isn’t an option. Sony’s unique “Adaptive charging” feature is designed to prevent battery degradation even after four years of use, ensuring the device remains reliable over the long term.

The new smartphone will receive six years of security updates and up to four OS version upgrades, making it a viable long-term investment. To ensure smooth performance and fast loading of content, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which provides improved processing speeds.
