Maastricht Aachen Airport announced a new, long-term partnership with Wizz Air that will bring three new destinations to the airport over the next year. The five-year agreement is a significant step in the airport’s strategy for future growth and improved regional connectivity.
Starting in October 2025, Wizz Air will launch flights to Bucharest, Romania. This will be followed by a new route to Chisinau, Moldova in the winter of 2025, and a flight to Katowice, Poland will be added in the summer of 2026.
According to the airport, the new routes are expected to serve around 134,000 passengers annually.
“We were already very proud of our partnership with Wizz Air,” said Dean Boljuncic, Head of Commercial Development at Maastricht Aachen Airport. “But now being able to announce a third route confirms our mutual trust and marks another step in the right direction. This is fantastic news for our passengers and for the region.”
This expansion is part of MAA’s ongoing effort to become a more future-proof airport.
