Transavia launches resale option for changed travel plans

Transavia is introducing Resale : a new service that allows passengers to offer their booked tickets for repurchase by Transavia if they are no longer able to travel. With this innovative solution, Transavia offers additional flexibility to passengers while simultaneously preventing seats from unnecessarily remaining empty.

Customers can request to resell their booking, including selected extras, on Transavia’s dedicated online platform. Transavia only repurchases tickets when there’s a realistic chance the seat can be resold, ensuring optimal capacity utilization. If the ticket is repurchased, the customer will receive a refund of at least the taxes and a maximum of 50% of the ticket value. The compensation is always clearly communicated to the customer.

With its Resale option, Transavia is responding to customer demand for greater flexibility without compromising its affordable fares. Previously, tickets without the flex option were completely void (excluding taxes) if not used, leaving seats unoccupied. This service offers an additional option – market permitting.

If a Transavia customer no longer wishes to travel, they can go to “My Transavia” and click the “Sell your ticket” button, or resale the ticket via resale.transavia.com. The Resale process is managed by Transavia, and all available tickets will be relisted through Transavia’s regular sales channels.

With this introduction, Transavia is taking a step towards developing smart, practical solutions that make travel accessible and flexible, even when plans change.
