Transavia will be sixty years old in 2025 and will celebrate this anniversary with the arrival of a brand new Airbus in retro style. The aircraft is expected at Schiphol on Friday 25 July. It is the twelfth Airbus for Transavia.
The Airbus A321neo will receive the Dutch registration PH-YHD on Thursday 24 July. The ferry flight to Amsterdam is scheduled for one day later. Special detail: this flight will receive flight number HV 1965, a tribute to the year Transavia was founded.
The plane is expected in the afternoon and can be deployed immediately. The first destination is not yet known.
From the 60’s
The retro style is based on one of Transavia’s first house styles. It was designed in 1966 by Dutch designer Thijs Postma. The design from the past can now be seen on a modern and economical aircraft: the Airbus A321neo. In this way, Transavia connects six decades of rich aviation history with the future. It shows where the airline comes from and where it wants to go.
Marcel de Nooijer, CEO of Transavia:
“For sixty years, we have been connecting people with beautiful destinations for both holidays and visits to friends and family abroad. That role will remain important, now and in the future. That is why we are investing in a fleet that is quieter, cleaner and more economical. The arrival of new Airbuses, including the retro livery, shows how we are looking ahead with the same entrepreneurial spirit with which we once started.”
