Nobu is coming to Amsterdam, and so did founders Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper this week. Last monday saw the groundbreaking of Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam, a landmark development set to open in 2027. The ceremony officially marks the arrival of Nobu Hospitality—the globally celebrated lifestyle brand in the Netherlands.
The upcoming Nobu Residences Park Meadows development is making steady progress in Amsterdam-Zuid, where construction is underway in the Beethovenstraat area, directly adjacent to the Beatrixpark. The two-tower complex will feature 213 luxury apartments, divided between a 19-storey and a 17-storey tower. The residences will include a mix of owner-occupied homes and high-end rental units. Positioned as branded residences, the project blends the comfort of private living with elevated hospitality services. Residents will have access to premium amenities such as a wellness area, gym, lounge spaces, and on-demand services inspired by the Nobu lifestyle.
Restaurant hotspot to be
At the heart of the development will be Nobu Restaurant Amsterdam, an on-site culinary destination that brings the brand’s globally recognised dining experience to the city for the first time. The first residents are expected to move into Nobu Residences Park Meadows in autumn 2027.
The Nobu founders voiced their excitement about entering the Amsterdam market:
“Amsterdam is a city that celebrates creativity and connection—core values aligned with Nobu. Breaking ground on our first restaurant and residences in the Netherlands marks an exciting new chapter for us in Europe. We look forward to becoming part of the city’s rich cultural landscape and sharing the Nobu experience with this incredible community.”
The groundbreaking strengthens the global presence of Nobu Hotels, the luxury lifestyle hotel group that evolved from Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s iconic restaurant brand. What began in 1994 with the opening of the first Nobu Restaurant in New York—quickly acclaimed for its innovative Japanese-Peruvian cuisine—has transformed into a worldwide hospitality empire.
The first Nobu Hotel opened in 2013 in Las Vegas, setting a new standard by blending high-end dining, contemporary luxury, and a sophisticated lifestyle ethos. Today, Nobu Hotels operates in major cities across the world, including London, Miami Beach, Manila, Barcelona, Marrakech, and Los Angeles. Each property is designed to reflect the local culture while delivering the signature Nobu experience.
The brand continues to expand rapidly, with new hotels and residences opening across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. The Amsterdam development marks the next step in Nobu’s evolution—bringing its celebrated mix of design, gastronomy, and luxury living to the Netherlands for the first time.
With Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam, the city is set to welcome not only a high-end residential landmark but also a new culinary destination poised to attract locals and international visitors alike.
