Mitsubishi launches all-electric Eclipse Cross in Europe

Mitsubishi Motors has marked a major milestone in its electrification strategy with the European launch of the all-new, fully electric Eclipse Cross compact SUV. Developed specifically for the competitive European market, the spacious and striking model combines advanced electric powertrain technology with the latest Mitsubishi design, a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, and modern connectivity including Google built-in.

The new Eclipse Cross instantly makes an impression in Europe’s most competitive segment. The all-electric SUV is designed for both daily use and long-distance travel, boasting an impressive range of up to 633 km (393 miles) on a single charge. It offers ample space for families who value comfort and adventure, pairing smooth handling with a thoughtful interior and seamless digital environment.

Frank Krol, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Europe, called the introduction a “key moment,” noting it’s the brand’s first battery-electric vehicle in Europe since the pioneering i-MiEV. The model, designed by the Mitsubishi Motors Europe Design-team, “embodies our bold design language and technological ambitions,” he added, playing a strategic role in the brand’s electrification push.

The SUV features an evolution of Mitsubishi’s recognizable Dynamic Shield front, characterized by a three-dimensional honeycomb grille structure that signals a new era for the brand. Its powerful, European design is described as robust, refined, and dynamically striking.

Built on the AmpR Medium platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, the new Eclipse Cross offers two battery packs, with the Long Range version featuring an 87 kWh battery for the maximum 633 km range. It supports both AC charging up to 22 kW and DC fast charging up to 150 kW.

Safety is paramount, with a body structure designed for high energy absorption, integrated battery safety protocols, and a central side airbag between the front seats. The vehicle is equipped with up to 20 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including the MI-PILOT semi-autonomous system for reduced driving fatigue.

Inside, the cabin blends practicality with luxury, featuring high-quality materials, customizable LED ambient lighting, and an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof. Digital integration is led by Google built-in, which natively includes Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play access via the 12-inch portrait infotainment display.

The new Eclipse Cross is backed by Mitsubishi’s eight-year/160,000 km warranty, underscoring the brand’s commitment to quality in the evolving electric vehicle market.
