JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa to reopen for first full season

Following its successful debut in 2025, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa has announced it will officially reopen for the summer season on April 15, 2026. Situated on the island’s rugged northern coastline near Chania, the resort represents the brand’s flagship Mediterranean opening and has quickly established itself as a benchmark for contemporary luxury in Greece.

A Sanctuary of Mediterranean Design

Located just 15 minutes from Chania Airport and overlooking the Bay of Marathi, the 160-key resort is defined by nature-led architecture that blends seamlessly into the Cretan shoreline. The property utilizes natural materials and expansive terraces to prioritize natural light and panoramic views of the Aegean. Accommodations are designed to offer maximum privacy and a connection to the landscape, ranging from spacious sea-view rooms and suites with private pools to earth-sheltered and two-level villas.

Holistic Wellness and Island Rhythms

The resort’s wellness philosophy extends throughout the guest experience, integrating mindfulness into daily life. For the 2026 season, the program includes sunrise sessions on a dedicated sea-front yoga deck and a rotating schedule of expert practitioners specializing in sound healing, movement, and holistic therapies. These offerings are complemented by an adults-only pool, direct beach access, and curated hiking trails that allow guests to engage with the island’s natural environment at a slower, more restorative pace.

Culinary Excellence and Sustainability

As Crete prepares to be recognized as the European Region of Gastronomy in 2026, the resort’s dining offerings emphasize the UNESCO-recognized Mediterranean Diet. The culinary program spans four distinct restaurants, including Õnalos for seafood, Anoee for contemporary Cretan cuisine, and Cuccagna for Italian dining. Each menu is grounded in seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and the on-site JW Garden. This season also features a collaboration with the mixology collective Soulshakers at the Eēxis bar, bringing a refined, ingredient-led approach to the evening cocktail program.

2026 Season Information

Reservations for the 2026 season are now open for stays between April and October. Rates during the low season begin at €320 per night, including breakfast, while high season rates starting in June begin at €400 per night. Detailed information and booking options are available at the resort’s official website.
