On behalf of the board, management and members of the Netherlands Association for Travel Management (NATM) has shared the news that former board member Johan van den Berg has passed away at age 78.
In a statement: ‘We were saddened to receive the news that our former board member, Mr Johan van den Berg, passed away on 26 July 2025 at the age of 78. Johan became a direct member of NATM in 1993, representing Smit Internationale in Rotterdam. In the years that followed, he made an exceptional contribution to the association. Between 1993 and 2003, he actively participated in several committees, including the finance, commercial, and membership committees.
In 2003, he joined the board as an interim member and formally served as a board member from April 2004 to December 2012. In March 2013, he was appointed honorary member, in recognition of his longstanding and valuable contribution to the development of NATM. Within NATM, Johan van den Berg is remembered as a dedicated and reliable professional, with a sharp eye for collaboration and content. His commitment and warm personality made him a respected member and an inspiring force within the association.
We express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for everything Johan has meant to NATM, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his children, grandchildren, friends, and loved ones.’
