BCD Travel today announced the direct integration of Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the introduction of split ticketing in the United Kingdom within TripSource, its AI-driven traveler platform. The move enhances the booking experience across Europe through continuous investment in rail technology and strategic partnerships.
“We have developed a modern, scalable, and customer-centric rail offering that aligns with how our clients want to shop, book, and manage their travel—whether online or offline—while simultaneously enabling more sustainable travel choices,” said Michèle Lawley, President of Europe at BCD Travel. “This requires long-term investment in our open platform, in strategic partnerships, and in the overall experience that brings everything together.”
Rich Content and Direct Integration The direct integration of Deutsche Bahn into TripSource strengthens BCD’s offering in one of Europe’s most critical rail markets: Germany. This foundation will be further expanded with upcoming initiatives, including the addition of SNCB (Belgium) and NS International (Netherlands) content for the Benelux region in July, alongside additional DB functionalities delivered via the direct connection.
BCD’s European rail strategy focuses on deep integrations that expand both the breadth and quality of content in key markets. The corporate travel management company’s existing offerings with major rail operators—such as UK Rail, SNCF in France, and SBB in Switzerland—demonstrate the maturity and capabilities of the platform.
Smarter Booking with Split Ticketing In the United Kingdom, BCD is making rail travel more accessible and affordable by introducing split ticketing capabilities within TripSource. This functionality automatically identifies and displays the most cost-effective ticket combinations without requiring manual search from the user. BCD data shows that approximately 35% of bookings utilize split tickets, yielding an average savings of £21.50 per journey.
Elevated User Experience for Travelers With recent enhancements, BCD has made its rail functionality more user-friendly and personalized. TripSource now supports interactive seat maps, providing travelers with greater clarity and confidence during the booking process. Corporate negotiated rates, loyalty program benefits, and rail discount cards are automatically applied to the booking.
“TripSource also delivers digital rail boarding passes directly within the app,” added Steph DeNote, SVP of Travel Commerce at BCD Travel. “But the impact goes beyond simple convenience. Higher traveler satisfaction drives increased adoption, which in turn boosts travel policy compliance and delivers measurable financial savings for corporations.”
